Welcome to Dave's Animations
This is a place for my animations I have created. They are all self-contained web pages. I used ChatGPT to help me create the JavaScript that powers the animations. I can make no guarantees that they will look the same on your device as they do on mine. But first why not visit my excellent t-shirt shop for unique designs you'll find nowhere else: https://studioskullshop.etsy.com
Click on the links below to view the animations (press F11 for full screen view):
Antikaleidotron | It's an anti kaleidoscope bexuase it is less symmetrical than it may look |
Kaleidotron | Sort of a multilayer kaleidoscope |
Spiro 4 | The final iteration of the headache inducing animation. I'm really pleased with this but some people might find it too colorful |
Spiro 3 | Lateat and previously greatest iteration of Spiro with bokeh fog(tm). I'm probably fooling myself and someone else has already come up with that mathod for cloud effects. |
Chunky Invaders | This isn'y just an animation but a game. After wathcing Colin Hoad's series on YouTube(How To Code Games In BBC BASIC: An Introduction), I liked the chunkly look of BBC Mode 7 teletext graphics, I wanted to make my own homage to Cosmic Invaders with much of the visua restrictions of Teletext graphics but with the advantaged of a modern computer to make it run slicker and smoother in a format that requires the user only to have a browser. |
Spiro 2 | Like Spiro but with fractal snowflakes and twisted polygons added to the repertoire alongside the spiral art. |
Space Battle | Press space to show/hide a clunky control panel |
Spiro | This is the first iteration of psychedelic spiral art (like the drawing toy with rotating gears that I can't mention for trademark reasons). I've made a more advanced version, but kept this one for the pure spiral art experience. |
Dancing DNA | AKA Wiggly Worms, Psychedelic Spaghetti |
Magnetron | Magnetism might not be the first impression you get but uses particles attracting each other to animate them. This has adjustable settings and it's surprisingly versatile in the type of effect you can get. They don't all work instantly and it sometimes takes a few seconds for their effect to become apparent. |
Plasmic Toxsis | Based loosely on Rock, Paper Scissors. Three tribes of ball ight for dominace, but it's better when you hide the balls and join the dots. It has adjustable controls but it can struggle if you push too many settings too hihg. |
Twisties | This is a work in progress. I think it has more potential when I get back to experimenting but I got frustrated with ChatGPT constantly ignoring my instructions and changing things I never asked for. |
